GOD’S UNCHANGING PURPOSE
A great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb... clothed in white robes ... holding palm branches ... shouting, "Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!" (Rev 7:9-10)
God's unchanging purpose was, is, and always will be to bless every nation, tribe, people and language. And, having a Bible we can look at the end, in the back of the book and see that's exactly what happens according to Revelation 7:9-10.
Can we make a difference to what's inevitable?
YES! We have freedom to pray, to tell, to go, or to give, so that God's blessing will reach all peoples! And, what greater reward can we gain from this life than participating with God in His unchanging purpose of blessing the nations: giving people a hope and a future!
A hope and a future not just for a lifetime, but for Eternity!
On that day when we stand before the throne shouting, "Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!" won't you be glad you are there! And just as you are grateful, many others may also be: to God ultimately, but also to the faithful!
THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY OF OUR LIFETIME ...
BEGIN WITH PRAYER AND GOD WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT IN WHAT COMES NEXT!
God's Unchanging Purpose: According to Him!
Immediately after God separated the peoples at the tower of Babel, He began revealing His plan to restore all His scattered children to Himself:
All peoples on earth will be blessed through you — Gen 12:3
Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. —Gen 18:18
… And through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me. — Gen 22:18
… Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed. — Gen 26:4
All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. — Gen 28:14
All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him. — Ps 22:28
… All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed. — Ps 72:17
Well over 100 verses and passages throughout scripture affirm God's determination to bless, heal and restore all nations to Himself.
The Lamb—slain from the foundations of the world—has done the “heavy lifting” to reconcile all nations to God. Now all that remains is the faithful fulfillment by Christ‘s body of our commission to disciple and reconcile all nations to God.
The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. — Isa 52:10
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. — Matt 24:14
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, … — Matthew 28:19
And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. — Mark 13:10
… and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. — Luke 24:47
God's concern to bless and restore all peoples to Himself is perhaps the most dominant theme of Scripture:
Hebrews refers to this theme as the "unchanging nature of His purpose" (Heb 6:17).
Paul describes this theme repeatedly as the mystery revealed at last to the saints (Rom 16:25–26; Eph 1:9–10, 3:2–11; Col 1:25–27).
Paul also refers to this theme as the gospel “preached in advance to Abraham” (Gal 3:8).
He said to Abraham, “Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.” — Acts 3:25
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 13:7
God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen! — Acts 28:28
Through [Jesus Christ] we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. — Gal 1:5
Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you” — Gal 3:8
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus …. — Gal 3:14
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body …. — Eph 3:6
… With your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. — Rev 5:9
