A Stark Disparity
A Stark Disparity
Population Distribution
Frontier & non-Frontier People Groups
Frontier People Groups live in isolation from believers, and perceive Jesus to be only for “Christian” peoples.
Where believers live, we commonly lead individuals to follow Jesus, but among FPGs leading individuals to Jesus often leads the group to seek even more isolation from the gospel!
For the gospel to become established within Frontier People Groups, we must lead whole households and communities to experience God’s presence and blessing in Jesus.
Blessing Distribution
God’s Blessing in Jesus
God blessed the first family (Gen 1), then promised to bless all of earth’s families through Abraham’s seed (Gen 12:1–3).
This blessing is not just for individuals or families, but whole family lines—clans, tribes, peoples and nations. Jesus commissioned us to carry this blessing to every nation—teaching them loving obedience to him (Mt 28:18–20).
Over the centuries—especially in recent decades—many nations have been transformed by the blessing of God through Jesus. Yet one-fourth of the world still lives isolated from this blessing.
The Believer’s Experience
The Believer’s Experience
Those who know Jesus—now about 10% of the world—live mostly:
- in relationship with others who know Jesus (bright yellow),
- in contact with other “Christians” (paler yellow) and
- praying for non-Christians in their own people group.
What we don’t realize is that nearly 2 billion people—who have no contact with Jesus-followers—are completely off our radar.
The Pray for the 31 – Prayer Guide is a great way to pray for the neglected quarter of the world.
The FPG Experience
The FPG Experience
Frontier People Groups don’t have their identity rooted in Jesus, and perceive Jesus as only being for other, “Christian” people groups. To preserve their family-line, FPGs often isolate themselves from outside influences, including the gospel. And when outsiders win individuals to Jesus away from FPG families and communities, FPGs strengthen their resolve to “protect” the rest of their people from such outside influences.
The Pray for the 31 – Prayer Guide is a great way to pray through the spiritual realities holding Frontier People Groups captive, and for gospel movements to lead whole households and communities to embrace Jesus and experience His blessing together!
